Construction of dementia-friendly care facility well underway

Construction work is underway on a new £15m care home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

External brickwork and roof tiling is now complete on the site, meaning the building is now watertight.

Once operational in mid September, Wilmslow Manor Care Home will offer residential, dementia, and 24-hour nursing care in a safe and comfortable environment.

The 63-bed facility will be run by New Care, and will create more than 100 new jobs across a variety of disciplines, including nurses and carers, hospitality, front of house, and maintenance.

Dawn Collett, commissioning director at New Care, said: “Work on site is progressing well and, with just two months to go, until practical completion, Wilmslow Manor is starting to look good and come to life.

“The care facility has been expertly designed to offer outstanding residential, dementia, and 24-hour nursing care in a stylish environment.”

Wilmslow Manor will feature fully-furnished, private bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms, as well as several communal lounges and dining rooms.

It will also have spa-assisted bathrooms, a nail and hairdressing salon, landscaped gardens, and outdoor terraces.
