New integration creates single point of administration and reporting for wired, wireless and wire-free systems

Access Control Services (ACS) continues to enhance the level of integration between its xPLAN system and ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s innovative Aperio locking solution.

ACS has fully integrated the Aperio wireless locking solution into the xPLAN V9.x access control system, creating a single point of administration and reporting for wired, wireless and wire-free systems, with additional support for other data on card appliances.

Due to its lithium ion battery, Aperio is cost effective in both the short and long-term due to a low cost of deployment and ongoing running costs.

Access Control’s latest Aperio wireless cylinders, PINpad escutcheon and L100 – the world’s-first complete wireless security lock - have all been integrated into the xPLAN product line. The Aperio all-in-one intelligent gateway controller by ACS is compatible with the xPLAN V9.x software as well as all Aperio battery-powered locking devices, combining the function of an eight-way long-range wireless IP hub with a distributed intelligence eight-door controller for maximum performance and resilience.

Ray Phillips of ACS said: “Aperio is the only battery-powered locking solution we found that allowed us to create a ‘native’ integration, e.g. no third-party software involvement.

“We particularly liked the fact that Aperio enabled the same locking devices to operate in online or offline modes. It was especially appealing that a system could start life as offline and, without any physical modification to the units, be switched to online at a later time, simply by the addition of hubs and gateway controllers.

“The xPLAN System can be used for small-scale applications or large projects, and the Aperio system is easily integrated and flexible, which is essential when considering the varied needs of our clients.”
