BMI Healthcare boosts its international team

New staff drive expansion of foreign patients visiting UK for treatment

BMI Healthcare has expanded its international team managing its growing business operations within the Middle East, Asian and North African healthcare markets.

As part of the continued expansion, Ahmed Mousa has been appointed international liaison officer and will be based at BMI The London Independent Hospital in east London.

As part of the international liaison team led by lead, Entesar Balal, Mousa’s strategic role will draw upon his expertise in relationship management and service delivery to support international growth within the London region and across BMI Healthcare’s network of 70 hospitals in the UK.

Over the last 18 months the private provider has focused attention on developing its service offer for international patients and encouraging increasing numbers of those patients to be treated at its UK-based hospitals., seeing an 87% growth in this area.

“These patients are traveling for procedures that are unavailable, too expensive, or difficult to access in their home country,” said international director, Alaana Woods.

“Ahmed’s appointment is key as our team continues its work in attracting new patients from abroad. He is fluent in Arabic, meaning that he will be a central point of referral for Middle Eastern embassies here in London. We welcome Ahmed and wish him well as he and the international team seek to deliver a broader service to BMI Healthcare’s hospitals and support our consultants in developing their international patient business.”

BMI Healthcare’s international market is broadly split into three groups; government-sponsored patients, insured patients living or traveling to the UK, and self-paying patients.
