Private hospital group deploys Plumtree Group dartEDM electronic document and records management and dartQSCAN automatic file indexing and capture systems

BMI Healthcare is to install document scanning systems from Plumtree Group.

The national contract will allow documents being produced by BMI Healthcare’s 69 hospitals and treatment centres across the UK to be quickly and easily scanned, giving both secure local access and efficient access for central administrative functions. The system is designed to complement BMI’s new group-wide patient administration system.

Plumtree Group first started working with BMI Healthcare four years ago and this new contract builds on the existing document scanning systems that have been established at four BMI hospitals and at BMI’s finance shared service centre. Under the new contract, BMI Healthcare will be using both the dartEDM electronic document and records management and dartQSCAN automatic file indexing and capture systems.

Paul Cowley, technology solutions director for BMI Healthcare, said: “This national deal with the Plumtree Group will enable us to take a significant step forward in the IT services available to our hospitals. It will ultimately help BMI to provide a smoother and more efficient service to our patients.”

Ben Dorks, group director of Plumtree Group, added: “We are delighted to be building on our great relationship with BMI Healthcare by developing a national scanning solution. Their staff will be able to scan in documents from multi-function devices in a variety of locations, processing forms and other records more efficiently and effectively than ever before.”
