Balfour Beatty appointed to Scottish development framework

Six-year deal with Health Facilities Scotland for £660m of work to healthcare estate


Balfour Beatty has been appointed to the NHS Frameworks Scotland 2, a national framework for the delivery of healthcare-related projects throughout all 14 Scottish Health Boards, including the more remote areas of Highland, Islands, Orkney and Shetland.

The company is one of five Principal Supply Chain partners with whom Health Facilities Scotland has entered into this six-year framework agreement. The total value of the framework over the whole period is estimated at £660m.

Balfour Beatty has successfully delivered over £400m of healthcare projects in Scotland in recent years. We believe our track record in this field was instrumental in securing our inclusion in this new partnership for acute care infrastructure improvement

Projects to be assigned under the framework will include new-build, extensions, conversions, adaptations, maintenance, risk reduction and business continuity works.

The appointment makes the company the only contractor to have a position on all three of the main health frameworks in the UK. Balfour Beatty is a Principal Supply Chain partner on the ProCure21+ framework in England and also holds a position on the Welsh Design 4 Life health and social care framework.
