Seating and trolleys commissioned for expanded neonatal intensive care unit and birthing centre at Cambridge hospital

Beaver Healthcare has supplied patient and visitor seating for the £30m extension at the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge.

The furniture is for parents staying with their children while they are treated in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, as well as for visitor areas and the Rosie Birth Centre.

As part of a £170,000 contract, Beaver Healthcare also supplied storage trolleys for the development, which will go alongside each intensive care cot to store vital medical supplies. Other items include a range of storage and dressings trolleys, linen trolleys and staff seating.

The three-storey expansion scheme, commissioned by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, makes the hospital one of the best-equipped and most-advanced maternity centres in the UK. It is now the lead unit for the Eastern region and will be the largest in the country by 2020, with 58 cots.
