System to boost interventional imaging as part of MES contract

Queen’s Hospital in London has installed an Artis zee biplane system for Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR) and non-vascular intervention and to act as a back-up system for neurological intervention imaging.

Installed as part of a long-term managed equipment service (MES) partnership between Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and Siemens Healthcare, the system has been installed in the radiology department. It is capable of handling a wide range of interventional procedures and provides improved accuracy during image-guided procedures at a low dose.

“Staff have found the Artis zee biplane easy to use and we have been very pleased with the images delivered,” said Alita Deterville, radiology resource manager at Queen’s Hospital. “The installation process ran smoothly and the multiple display in the examination room provides us with crystal clear images alongside rapid acquisition times.”
