Meeting management tool incorporates fingerprint technology to improve ease of use and harness the power of tablet and app technology

Following Apple’s announcement of Touch ID in the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, eShare, provider of BoardPacks, the web and app-based meeting management tool, today launches its fingerprint scanner log-in for users of its platform.

The fingerprint scanner has been designed to make it even easier for users at health and social care trusts to access board papers in a structured, secure and efficient way from a tablet, at any time. This coincides with the forthcoming release of the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, which includes Touch ID to log in, as an alternative to using a code.

Applying fingerprint recognition technology, users of BoardPacks will simply place their finger on the reader so that it can be scanned, matching it to the pre-defined image of the user’s finger. This will then allow registered members to access relevant information at any time, anywhere.

In this era of smart devices, it makes sense for those responsible for steering an organisation to move away from paper meeting packs and it is our goal to make the transition for board members as simple as possible with features like the fingerprint technology

Alister Esam, chief executive of BoardPacks, said: “We’re very excited to be able to announce the launch of our fingerprint scanner, particularly ahead of the release of the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. We’ve developed this to make it even easier for organisations to securely harness the power of tablet and app technology for activities such as board meetings, risk management and decision making.

“In this era of smart devices, it makes sense for those responsible for steering an organisation to move away from paper meeting packs and it is our goal to make the transition for board members as simple as possible with features like the fingerprint technology. It’s all about saving the board members’ time and helping them do their job better. ”

As well as the fingerprint scanner, this latest release includes a new design to make the interface even more user friendly. The BoardPacks app is already the quickest in terms of navigating between boards, meetings and papers; it only takes a board member five minutes to get up and running. The app has a different agenda format compared to others, which allows for links, decisions, documents, notes and 3rd party systems to be attached to particular agenda items. It is particularly helpful for those organisations in regulated industries, such as healthcare, education, not-for-profit, investments and finance.
