Boost for Nuffield cardiology services

Published: 26-Apr-2011

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital is one of the first hospitals in the UK to install an ACUSON SC2000 ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare. The equipment is situated in the cardiology department - one of only two in the Nuffield Health group - and is being used to carry out all echocardiograms as well as being the main ultrasound machine for all invasive and non-invasive tests. "We chose the SC2000 because it offers the latest technology and it has allowed us to cut the time taken to do a standard echocardiography exam and consequently see more patients," said Matthew Howland, cardiac services manager at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. "The system does a lot of automatic calculations and the images generated are of a superb quality, which enables a quicker and confident diagnosis."
