Radiology department installs new Fujifilm FDR Go mobile

Charing Cross is a busy, central London hospital which sees a significant volume of stroke patients and provides a range of acute and specialist services.

The radiology department needed a new digital mobile unit as the radiographers found their existing fleet of old mobiles unreliable.

They needed a high-performance mobile that provided excellent image quality, and that was flexible and easy to use in all areas of the hospital, including the ITU.

When sister hospital, St Mary’s, also part of the Imperial College Heathcare Trust, trialed a new Fujifilm FDR Go mobile, Charing Cross wanted to find out whether the FDR Go could also work for them.

A radiographer visited St Mary’s for a demonstration and she reported back how much she liked the FDR Go, how easy it was to move, how good the Console Advance user interface was and all the enthusiastic accounts of how much the St Mary’s team liked it too.

After such a positive experience it was an easy decision for Charing Cross to follow St Mary’s lead and choose the Fujifilm FDR Go.

“We’ve had great feedback from the radiography team on the new Fujifilm FDR Go Mobile” said Kathy Gunn, core services superintendent at Charing Cross.

“They have found it really easy to use and very logical, and everyone is delighted with the image quality.

“The wireless D-Evo II detectors have significantly increased workflow efficiency, and the fact that they are so light means they’re really easy to position.

We have also been very impressed with the excellent support from Fujifilm during the initial period of integrating the new equipment into the department.”
