Cherwell appoints new engineering manager

Simon Bean heads up Cherwell’s expert engineering department

Cherwell Laboratories has announced the appointment of Simon Bean as engineering manager.

His appointment, to head up Cherwell’s well-established team of engineers, reinforces Cherwell’s commitment to ensuring the highest-quality service and recalibration for the SAS microbial air sampler range for environmental monitoring.

A chartered mechanical engineer, Bean holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and of the Reading area committee.

His previous role was as a mechanical services group leader for 3M, where he gained significant experience of project managing, designing and installing mechanical equipment to manufacture pharmaceuticals, industrial coatings, dust masks, abrasives and tapes.

“Joining Cherwell is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to working with a very experienced and highly-professional team,” he said.

“My focus will be to identify key opportunities to build on our current engineering systems and processes to deliver an even-better service to our customers, helping contribute to Cherwell’s ongoing growth plans.”

Martyn Young, operations director, added: “Simon is very much part of our continuing development of Cherwell Laboratories. He brings skills, experience and energy which I am confident will contribute to delivering customer confidence, supporting them in their own ongoing business success.”
