Move enables NHS to use collective buying power to purchase goods and services

Essentia Trading has been selected for the sought-after London Procurement Partnership’s (LPP’s) Framework for Professional Services, which enables NHS organisations to use their collective buying power to purchase goods and services.

Launched in April 2006, LPP is a membership organisation that helps NHS organisations, including acute, mental health, community and primary care, to get best value when procuring goods and services, while ensuring the highest quality of patient care.

Its members have saved the NHS more than £1billion through LPP since 2006.

It currently saves the NHS more than £2.5m a week and is part of a wider NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership.

Essentia has been selected for LPP’s Professional Services Dynamic Purchasing System, an electronic system used by buyers for services which combines the LPP frameworks for Construction Consultancy Services and Estates & Facilities Advisory Services.

As all suppliers on the system have gone through a stringent, OJEU-compliant process, it means that NHS organisations can buy their services much faster.

Essentia is also an accredited member of Construction Line, the provider of procurement and supply chain management services which partners with LPP.

The appointment is a coup for the 60-strong Essentia team which offers expertise to healthcare, science, public and private organisations.

Essentia has a track-record in the NHS, having delivered projects for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, among others.

Winning a place on the framework means that Essentia will be able to offer its core services of healthcare planning, project management, built environment consultancy and workplace transformation, estates strategy, sustainability, lifecycle planning and development, programme management and property acquisition and disposals to LPP’s members.

David Philliskirk, commercial director at Essentia Trading, said: “We are the only consultancy in the UK to offer a truly-integrated team of leading experts drawn from backgrounds as diverse as capital development to healthcare planning.

“We have shown that we can bring significant value to NHS organisations by helping them to become more efficient and effective, improving processes and patient care and helping to create a sustainable healthcare system for the future.”
