Nominations sought to recognise the impact of digital technologies on healthcare

Digital Health Age has announced the launch of the inaugural Connected Hospital Awards.

The sector-leading champion of cutting-edge technologies in healthcare settings, Digital Health Age is now looking for nominations for the most-connected hospital in the UK.

The judges are seeking pitches that demonstrate a sustained and significant investment in technologies that take advantage of internet connectivity. Devices, wearables, software, e-prescriptions, e-observations and apps are all examples of cutting-edge technologies in this context.

Pitches should not just highlight the extent of investment, but also employee uptake, patient experience and outcomes, and efficiency gains.

The winning hospital will be presented with the prestigious Digital Health Age Connected Hospital Award.

David Gray and Lu Rahman are the founders of Digital Health Age, as well as the Connected Hospital award. Gray said: “We spend a lot of time reading about the fantastic investment in resources and training taking place across the country. 2016 is the year that we want to celebrate the teams and facilities where these investments are being put to best use.”

Rahman added: “There are hospitals using wearable tech, Apple Watch for instance, to great effect amongcancer patients. Ease of use and time efficiencies have never been more important across the NHS, and the way these products are being used is a step in the right direction.”

Entries close on 1 July, with the winner to be announced 1 August.
