New range designed to provide a safe and comfortable surface to support diagnostic and treatment procedures in the acute environment

Brand new from Sidhil for 2015 is the E-Med range of high-performance variable-height patient trolleys, designed to provide a safe and comfortable surface to support diagnostic and treatment procedures in the acute environment.

Offering flexibility for applications in A&E, hospital wards, day case surgery, X-ray and general transfers, the E-Med trolleys are configured to combine an ergonomic, slimline profile for ease of manouevrability while retaining a wide platform for patient comfort, complete with compass side rails for optimum safety, reliability, and facilitating minimum gap transfers.

The E-Med 1200 two-section and E-Med 1400 four-section trolley with knee-break feature a smooth, adjustable height range of 56-88cm, easily operated using dual sided foot controls, and have been developed specifically to allow easy interface with medical devices, including radiological equipment.

The open construction of the trolley beneath the radio transparent platform enables imaging equipment including c-arm X-ray machines to be operated above or below the full length of the patient, with special chromed runners along the length of the trolley to hold a traditional or digital X-ray plate at a distance of 20mm from the platform to guarantee optimum image clarity. In addition, the backrest section can be configured to allow patient cassettes to be inserted into specially-designed channels on the underside, to simplify access for chest x-rays.

The new trolleys have been developed to assist with and simplify clinical procedures. The two push handles at the head end are totally retractable to give optimum clearance for clinical emergencies. The ergonomic design of the bumpers and the wide variable height makes them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Movement and manouevrability have also been optimised, with the trolleys designed for perfect balance and weight distribution. E-Med trolleys use innovative column actuator systems operated by three simple foot controls, offering flexibility and functionality with full Trendelenberg and reverse Trendelenburg positioning as standard. Four braked castors guarantee excellent stability, with an optional fifth central castor providing easy 360° rotation where required.

All steel sections are epoxy powder coated, with plastic elements including the antibacterial ‘Interpon' additive to help in the fight against bacteria. The trolleys come complete with special antistatic mattresses designed for optimum patient comfort, even in the event of extended use. Mattress covers are removable, waterproof, antistatic, antibacterial and antiacarus.

Sidhil's E-Med range of trolleys also includes the Seatline, developed for day surgery and high-demand applications; the E-Med 1500 series variable-height trolleys for general use and ward transfers; and a value fixed-height range.
