Forbo Flooring and Chase Farm redevelopment among winners of IHEEM Annual Awards

Winners across nine categories are announced

A new vinyl sheet floor covering designed to save installation time and minimise disruption; an environmentally-friendly dementia care unit; and one of the largest capital projects in the NHS in recent years were among the winners at this year’s IHEEM Annual Awards.

Announced during a ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday evening; the winners were chosen over nine categories highlighting the latest innovations and recognising excellence and commitment within the health sector.

The winners were:

Apprentice of the Year

Winner: Thomas Bennett (South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust)

Highly commended: Matthew Davison (QE Facilities)

Estates and Facilities Team of the Year

Winner: Chase Farm redevelopment team

Highly commended: South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Sustainable Achievement Award

Winner: Tanworth Lane Dementia Care Facility (One Creative Environments/Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council)

Highly commended: Vital Energi and NHS Grampian energy link

Product Innovation Award

Winner: Modul’up (Forbo Flooring Systems)

Highly commended: Book of Beasties

Architectural Practice of the Year

Winner: P+HS Architects

Highly commended: The IAD Company

Consultancy of the Year

Winner: Currie & Brown UK

Highly commended: WSP

Refurbishment Project of the Year

Winner: NHS Lanarkshire, University Hospital Monklands

Highly commended: The Derwent Centre, Harlow (Frederick Gibberd Partnership)

New Build Project of the Year

Winner: Caudwell International Children’s Centre (Caudwell Children/C4 Consulting)

Highly commended: Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (Steffian Bradley Architects)
