Modul’up is a unique floor covering that can be installed without adhesive, saving on installation time and costs

Forbo Flooring Systems has announced that its new vinyl sheet collection, Modul’up, has scooped the Product Innovation award at this year’s Healthcare Estates IHEEM Awards ceremony.

Modul’up is a unique floor covering that can be installed without adhesive, saving on installation time and costs, minimising disruption and reducing environmental impact – making it ideal for high traffic healthcare areas in new build and renovation projects.

Comprising a wide choice of colours and designs, the product is available in a compact version. This ensures minimal indentation and is suited to areas subject to wheeled traffic, such as hospital service corridors and wards, and with an enhanced Decibel (19dB) version, it is ideal for treatment rooms and waiting rooms, where impact noise needs to be minimised.

Modul’up is making waves within the industry – with its benefits really making a difference to contractors and end users

Thanks to its double structural stabilisation system, the vinyl sheet will not curl, ruck or roll and its unique single sided tape system ensures the product stays tightly in place. What’s more, in many cases, Modul’up does not require any specific substrate preparation before installation as it can be laid over old flooring coverings – even while the area is still in constant use. Modul’up T.E., a new version of the adhesive- free floor covering, is now also available for damp subfloor applications with up to 97% RH.

Janet Lowe, Head of Marketing UK & Ireland at Forbo Flooring Systems, commented: "Winning the Product Innovation Award is testament to all the hard work the team here at Forbo has put into developing this solution. And although Modul’up is still relatively new, it is making waves within the industry, as we are already seeing a lot of installations taking place across the UK – and globally – with its benefits really making a difference to contractors and end users."

The annual Healthcare Estates IHEEM Awards, which seeks to recognise and celebrate excellence and achievements made within the healthcare sector, was held on 8 October in Manchester Central.
