Former Dixons and Jessops chief takes board role at Asteral

Christopher Langley announced as CEO of MedTech supplier

Asteral has appointed Christopher Langley as its new chief executive.

The announcement follows an 18-month period that has seen the business expand its offering to provide a broad range of services that specifically cater for the needs of healthcare providers.

Langley has been working with the Asteral board as a non-executive director since October 2010 and brings a wealth of board-level experience from both private companies and the NHS.

As the chairman at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Langley has led its transformation over the past two years and will continue in a non-executive capacity. He was also a non-executive director of North Middlesex University Hospitals NHS Trust, while other previous positions have included managing director of high street electrical retailer, Dixons Stores, and chief executive of Jessops.

He said of the appointment: “I join Asteral at an exciting time and look forward to leading the business forward as the UK’s number one vendor-independent provider of medical equipment services. Our team offers a wealth of expertise and industry-leading experience and the company is well placed for further growth.”
