MedicX Healthfund has this week agreed to fund the construction of a purpose-built care home in Romiley, a suburb of Stockport, Greater Manchester.
The high-specification property, which will be known as Cherry Tree House, will comprise 81 bedrooms arranged over three floors and will provide nursing care for elderly people, including those with dementia and with high dependency nursing needs.
The £6.6m facility will occupy a one-acre site incorporating landscaped gardens and 21 car parking spaces.
Work on the development has already started and completion is scheduled for September 2013.
Owned by MedicX Healthfund, the property will be developed by Northdene and will be leased over 35 years to London and Manchester Healthcare.

This Romiley site provides a clear opportunity to deliver a high-quality specialist care home providing specifically for high-dependency nursing care and dementia needs.”
