Hallmark secures planning consent for Bath care home

Residential, dementia and nursing home set to open in 2021

Hallmark Care Homes has secured planning consent with help from national planning and development consultant, Turley, for a luxury 79-bed care home in Bath, Somerset.

The 1.3-acre site in Frome Road has been purchased by Hallmark, which is planning to develop a new residential, dementia and nursing care home in keeping with the local area.

To be built by Savista Developments, the state-of-the-art facility which will feature a café, cinema, hairdressers, therapy room, a wellness suite, winter and roof garden, library and a mixture of spacious en-suite bedrooms and suites.

It will also have a specially-designed dementia community with a centralised activity hub which will include an additional hair salon, a reminiscence lounge, and activity room.

Outside there will be a wildlife refuge, courtyard, and landscaped gardens.

Chairman of Hallmark Care Homes and managing director of Savista Developments, Avnish Goyal, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for this wonderful facility that will be an asset to the community and local residents.

“The home will have a number of innovative ideas and new features that we are looking to showcase when it opens in late 2021.”

Director at Turley, Phil Jones, added: “Redeveloping the currently-underutilised site for elderly and dementia residents will bring it back into purposeful use and the proposals will deliver economic, social and wider environmental benefits for the community.”
