Ingenica Solutions awarded GS1 UK-certified solution status in inventory management for Atticus system

Ingenica Solutions has been awarded GS1 UK-certified solution status in inventory management.

The GS1 system of standards is the most-widely-used supply chain standards system in the world. The award has been granted for Atticus, Ingenica’s end-to-end inventory management solution for the NHS, which improves efficiency and reduces costs throughout the ‘procure to pay’ cycle.

As a GS1 UK-certified solution, Atticus has differentiated itself from others in the market; recognition that highlights Ingenica’s commitment to developing and deploying solutions that are capable of fully utilising the GS1 System. GS1 is a global organisation dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve efficiency and visibility in supply and demand chains globally and across sectors.

GS1 UK only grants certification to solutions that have successfully passed a stringent review process, and have already achieved GS1 UK accreditation. Nicola Hall, managing director at Ingenica Solutions, said: “Ensuring that our solution is complaint with industry standards is vital to Ingenica and part of our quality mantra. A wealth of experience and know-how is invested into the design of Atticus to meet the requirements today and in the future, and NHS trusts now have the additional reassurance that our solutions meet GS1 standards. This certification marks another significant step forward for the Ingenica team, and reinforces our proficiency in inventory management.”

The certification strengthens Ingenica’s position in the market further as the Government has mandated GS1 standards for use in the NHS; paving the way for future changes in the sector to become world-class in supply chain management and procurement.

Jonathan Brown, partner programme manager at GS1 UK, said: “Ingencia fully understands the importance of supporting better procurement, value and care in the NHS, and we are delighted that they have attained certification among our community of compliant partners. The Government’s eProcurement Strategy requires the adoption of our standards throughout the NHS, providing a common language for identifying, locating, moving and trading medical supplies and assets. We look forward to working closely with Ingenica as part of our drive to help trusts achieve world class supply chain operations.”

Ingenica has been examined by GS1 UK in its area of expertise and has demonstrated a high level of knowledge and understanding of GS1 standards and a commitment to maintaining this knowledge. The certification also recognises that Ingenica is capable of correctly and consistently implementing GS1 standards.
