Crosscare Mobile from Advanced Health & Care to increase hospice workers capacity by up to two hours each day

Advanced Health & Care has announced the launch of Crosscare Mobile, an extension to Crosscare, the UK’s-leading clinical management system for hospices.

The new solution will enable staff to increase the length of time they can care for patients in their own homes by up to 20% through accessing and updating key information remotely via internet enabled smartphones and tablets.

Crosscare Mobile automates manual administrative tasks so they can be completed electronically and at the point of care. This will enable staff to spend more time with patients and save time travelling to and from hospices to update records and care schedule information. Advanced estimates that the solution will save individual workers between one and two hours a day.

Crosscare Mobile offers highl- secure access to patient information without the need for staff to carry paper records. All updates are imported into the centrally-deployed system from where they can be accessed by hospice-based homecare teams and their managers. Records can only be accessed by authorised staff and Crosscare Mobile is encrypted and password protected to ensure patient information is fully secure at all times.

Jim Chase, managing director of Advanced Health & Care, said: “Crosscare Mobile will enable hospice staff to spend more time with patients in their own homes - an essential element of effective palliative care. Releasing care staff from their administrative burden and the need to travel is key to helping them provide patients with the same high level of care that they would receive in a hospice.

“This launch underlines our commitment to providing highly-secure solutions that optimise efficiency and productivity in the hospice care market. We have developed this innovative solution based on our understanding of the sector and wide experience of providing organisations with technologies which provide a rapid return on investment.”

Return-on-investment appraisals carried out by Advanced have indicated that its mobile solutions provide organisations with payback in less than six months following deployment and increase the capacity for frontline services by between 12.5-20%. Crosscare Mobile has been developed to provide hospices with an equivalent return on investment.

Crosscare facilitates both adult and children’s services, which each have their own specific requirements and includes a full hospice administration module that caters for incoming referrals and multiple and concurrent episodes of care.
