Published: 22-Apr-2011

WORK is about to start on the main build for Frimley Park Hospital's new emergency department, day surgery unit and helipad. Hoarding around the development goes has gone up and a new access road has opened for use by ambulances, buses, staff and delivery vehicles. Building work will continue for the next year. Janet King, director of HR and facilities said: "We are building a wonderful new facility for the most acutely-ill patients, but we recognise that there will inevitably be disruption while it progresses." The new extension will provide more space and extra resuscitation stations, more single rooms, helicopter access and improved infection control.
