Lombard Medical announces partnership with Machine Solutions
Link-up will increase manufacturing capacity for vascular equipment specialist
Vascular equipment specialist, Lombard Medical Technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Machine Solutions (MSI), a global supplier of process and testing solutions to the medical device industry.
The link-up forms part of the company’s wider plan to improve manufacturing efficiencies for its Aorfix stent graft and delivery system, a device for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs).
The move follows the completion, last year, of Lombard Medical’s strategic manufacturing and capacity plan, which aims to increase operational efficiency, increase manufacturing capacity, and improve manufacturing yields.
Lombard Medical’s chief executive, Simon Hubbert, said: “As we approach the final stages of the regulatory process for Aorfix in the US and demand for the device elsewhere continues to grow, we are taking steps to ensure we have appropriate manufacturing capabilities and capacity in place. Thus we are pleased to announce this partnership with MSI, which is the recognised industry leader in providing process solutions to catheter and stent graft manufacturers.”
