LumiraDx showcases new tech at NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo

Published: 6-Sep-2017

LumiraDx is excited to be exhibiting at this year’s NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo on 11–12 September 2017, in Manchester

The Expo is one of the largest events in the UK dedicated to technology and innovation in health and social care and will attract over 5000 delegates across the 2 days.

LumiraDx Health IT will be there to showcase its collaboration with the Health and Social Care Partnership and Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network (GMAHSN) and its technical support of the DataWell digital infrastructure project.

Built on the LumiraDx platform, DataWell is an innovative informatics platform, which enables health and social care data to be shared.

Datawell helps remove data sharing barriers, accelerating improvements in health outcomes and cost effectiveness for Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and East Lancashire healthcare organisations.

Michael Nicholls, Head of Platform Development and Technical Operations at LumiraDx IT Health, said: “We are delighted to be a part of the Expo this year and to be able to align our technology, innovation and expertise with the key themes of the event. The Expo gives us a fantastic opportunity to meet with key opinion leaders, directors, care leaders and innovators alike.”

LumiraDx Care Solutions, part of the LumiraDx group, design therapy and condition-specific digital care solutions for patients and clinicians.

LumiraDx Care Solutions attends the Expo alongside the LumiraDx IT Health group to present its new patient app, engage, which gives patients access to safer, more supported self-care options under the guidance of their care team.

The app, 'engage' is excitingly different to other healthcare apps, because as well as recording health data input by the patient, it also keeps individuals digitally connected to their care team and includes interactive education to ensure patients have the knowledge, skills and confidence to feel more in control of their care.

It combines the best technology, education and clinical expertise to deliver a series of safe, self-care programmes — such as a self-testing for anticoagulation therapy with seamless connectivity to the patient record.

The app is currently available to CCGs and practices that use INRstar as their clinical decision support software (CDSS).
