McAvoy makes new board appointment

Martin O'Neill joins offsite construction specialist as contracts director

The McAvoy Group has expanded its board with the appointment of Martin O’Neill as contracts director, further strengthening its management team.

With 25 years experience in construction and civil engineering, O’Neill brings a wide range of project delivery experience to his new role.

He will take responsibility for delivering offsite projects to the highest quality standards while meeting McAvoy’s stringent health and safety requirements on every site.

He will collaborate at the initial design and procurement stages of a project and will lead site operations to handover and post-completion.

And he will work closely with the group’s business development, commercial and manufacturing teams, giving clients the benefit of a fully-seamless approach.

Commenting on the new appointment, Mark Lowry, managing firector of The McAvoy Group, said: “We are continuing to grow and develop the McAvoy business, which in turn means strengthening the team with the best-possible talent who share our vision.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming Martin to the board. His experience, knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in driving the group forward across a range of sectors.”

A member of the Institution of Engineers Ireland, O’Neill was previously regional director for Scotland and Northern England at Farrans Construction, where he was responsible for around £100m worth of projects each year.
