McKesson appointed onto ESR payroll management framework
Framework agreement to help NHS trusts save money on procurement
McKesson has been appointed one of four providers on a new framework agreement for ESR compatible payroll management services.
The framework has been created by HealthTrust Europe, which acts as an agent of the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in providing procurement services to a vast range of NHS and wider public sector organisations.
Under the agreement, McKesson’s payroll services, including fully-managed, blended and bureau payroll service options, will be available through one channel.
Commenting on its selection, Frank Rutley, vice president of UK workforce solutions at McKesson UK, said: “We have been providing trusted, reliable and proven HR, payroll and pensions services to the NHS since 2007 and our experience from developing, implementing, operating, and supporting the NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) has given us an excellent understanding and depth of knowledge of the complex intricacies involved in NHS processes.”
The framework means NHS organisations can avoid the need for lengthy and costly OJEU procurements, thus saving money and accelerating the time taken to achieve a return on investment.
Rutley said: “With the financial pressures facing the NHS today, it is critical NHS organisations can rely upon their suppliers to help deliver cost savings without compromising the quality of service.”
