Medway Community Healthcare bolsters interoperability plans
Rio Electronic Patient Record system from Servelec goes live across trust
Servelec has signed a contract with Medway Community Healthcare (MCH) to implement its Rio Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.
Rio will help MCH to align its digital services with the NHS Long Term Plan and support the social enterprise in delivering joined-up, seamless care for its patients in the community.
The trust selected Rio due to its rich functionality and its ability to integrate with several IT systems through Servelec’s Conexes cloud-based interoperability platform.
Conexes enables a safe, secure environment to share data between various systems and mobile apps to deliver an integrated approach to patient care.
It will allow MCH to easily share patient data with its partners and other critical IT systems throughout the organisation.
As an Integrated Care Provider (ICP), MCH works with acute community and mental health trusts and GPs across the region.
And Conexes will enable these trusts to connect with its EPR system, creating a local shared care record and meaning that data can be recorded and easily accessed by all partners.
Medway Community Healthcare is upgrading to Servelec’s Rio EPR from its current solution with a different supplier.
The EPR system will be used by approximately 1,300 members of staff, covering a number of different children’s and adults services, including mobile clinicians.
As Rio is mobile, accessed through a browser or mobile app, it will help clinicians provide better care to patients when treating them at home and the mobile solution will enable MCH to offer a wider range of holistic healthcare options.

“Further to this, Servelec has an excellent grasp on clinical safety and has provided a thorough clinical hazard log for MCH’s senior clinical safety lead to work with.”
