Firm to deliver hard facilities management services as securing well as year-on-year cost savings

Miller has secured a £7m three-year contract to deliver facilities management services for over 90 sites for Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL).

CNWL is one of the largest trusts in the UK, caring for people with a wide range of physical and mental health needs. It provides healthcare to a third of London's population and across wider geographical areas, including Milton Keynes, Kent and Surrey.

Following a competitive tender process, Miller has been appointed to self-deliver the hard facilities management services in close collaboration with CNWL’s estates team. Miller will deliver year-on-year cost savings for the trust and provide a range of additional service enhancements, including a responsive 24-hour helpdesk service.

In securing this latest contract, which has the option to be extended for an additional two years, Miller will create more than 24 new jobs within the trust’s local communities in addition to transferring in nine current operatives.

Brian Harthill, head of estates at CNWL, said: “CNWL is very happy that the contract to provide our estates maintenance service has been awarded to Miller. The new contract will deliver an improved and more-comprehensive planned and reactive maintenance service. The introduction of consistent performance standards will not only help deliver financial savings, but also the continued delivery of a high-quality environment for our patients, staff and visitors.”

Chris Webster, chief Executive of Miller Construction, added: “Health is a key market for us and we are delighted to have secured this latest contract. We recognise that providing the best -value and responsive facilities management services is increasingly important within this sector as it enables healthcare professionals to focus on patient care. We now look forward to maintaining these important facilities for the staff and communities they serve for many years to come.”
