NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership expands frameworks
Procurement body delivers best practice for NHS trusts with launch of four new framework agreements
Following on from the success of the first three collaborative frameworks created for the NHS; the NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (NHS CPP) is due to launch four more in 2017.
The NHS CPP already runs frameworks for Total Orthopaedic Solutions, Total Cardiology Solutions, and the National Clinical Staffing framework.
And now the organisation is adding another four to its portfolio: the newly-launched e-Catalogue and e-Requisitioning Solution; the imminent Clinical Consumables framework; the Theatre Surgery Consumables framework; and the Complete Ophthalmology Solutions framework, both of which are due to launch this month.
Since its launch, the Total Orthopaedic Solutions framework has saved over £18m for trusts, while the Total Cardiology Solutions has revolutionised the marketplace for a full range of cardiology products. Most recently, the National Clinical Staffing framework covering nursing, medical locums, dental, allied health professionals and health science services staff is supporting the NHS to better manage its staffing.
NHS CPP is the culmination of a collaborations between four NHS procurement organisations: NHS Commercial Solutions (NHS CS), East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub (EOE CPH), NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) and NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP).
By joining forces NHS CPP represents approximately 60% of NHS trusts and influences between £6billion and £7.5billion of NHS non-pay spend.
Joint collaboration enables NHS CPP to deploy the collective expertise of each organisation, facilitate aggregation, avoid unnecessary duplication, and influence the market to change the procurement landscape to best effect for the NHS.
