Scott Henderson appointed to help deliver £1 billion of savings back to the NHS

Leading business support specialist NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) has brought on board an experienced IT strategist to support the organisation’s objective of delivering £1 billion of savings back to the NHS by 2020.

Scott Henderson has been appointed as IT director to develop and deliver the IT strategy that will underpin the future finance and accounting, employment and procurement functions that NHS SBS undertakes on behalf of NHS organisations.

Henderson will also join the executive management team of NHS SBS, a 50/50 joint venture between the Department of Health and IT specialist, Sopra Steria.

He has previously held roles within NHS SBS, as system implementation manager before being promoted to head of finance and accounting technology. He also brings with him considerable experience within the finance sector, having held senior roles within Barclays Bank, Lloyds Banking Group and HBOS plc.

David Morris, NHS SBS managing director, said: “We’re looking forward to Scott joining us at a time when we are seeing more NHS organisations searching for ways to gain access to the best IT solutions that will help them make significant improvements in the quality of their back-office processes and deliver cost savings that can free-up funds for frontline care.”
