NHS Supply Chain has announced that Supply Chain Coordination Limited (SCCL), the management function of the new NHS Supply Chain and James Spittle, chairman of SCCL, have appointed three non-executive directors to join the board.
Professor Heather Tierney-Moore OBE, Steven Glew, and Heather Benjamin will join the SCCL board, with each bringing a wealth of clinical, financial and commercial experience and expertise to NHS Supply Chain.
Clinical expertise will be provided by Professor Heather Tierney-Moore OBE, who has worked in healthcare for over 30 years, initially training as a registered general nurse.
Currently chief executive of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, she has had extensive non-executive experience with the NHS Confederation and, most recently, the national social care charity, Community Integrated Care.
Financial expertise will be provided by Steven Glew, a highly-experienced finance director with substantial retail experience, particularly of turnaround and growth opportunities, including over 10 years at UKMail Group plc and 15 years in senior roles with Tesco.
His non-executive experience includes helping guide the successful IPO of Supergroup, chairman of the Audit Committee, and membership of the Remuneration Committee.
And commercial expertise will be provided by Heather Benjamin, with proven commercial expertise in logistics and supply chain, leading companies and serving on the board of directors for private, commercial and not-for-profit organisations and associations.
During her time as chief procurement officer at Centrica, she helped drive transformation of £10billion-per-annum spend.
