Final non-executive director appointment sees Sandra MacQuillan join the team

Supply Chain Coordination Limited (SCCL), the management function of NHS Supply Chain, has appointed Sandra MacQuillan as non-executive director, bringing the expanded Board to its full complement.

MacQuillan joins the Board for a three-year term and brings more than 30 years of extensive international supply chain leadership experience to the role.

Her previous role was executive vice president and chief supply chain officer at Mondelez International, a multi-national food and beverage company operating in 150 countries.

And prior to this she was senior vice president and chief supply chain officer at Kimberley-Clark Corporation, with responsibility globally for procurement, manufacturing, logistics, quality, safety, and sustainability.

MacQuillan also served as global vice president for supply chain at Global Petcare, a $15billion Mars business.

And she was ranked number one global supply chain leader last October by Alcott Global and was named number one global woman in supply chain leadership in 2020.

She has lived and worked in the UK, Czech Republic, Russia, Middle East, Belgium, and, most recently, in the US.

MacQuillan sits on the executive advisory board of Zero100, which focuses on developing and challenging industry to zero emissions and 100% digital. She also sits on the executive advisory board for BOOM! an organisation focused on supporting women in supply chain roles around the world.

SCCL chairman, Heather Tierney-Moore OBE, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sandra as another fantastic non-executive Board member appointment to NHS Supply Chain.

“Sandra joins at a truly-exciting time of growth for our organisation as we focus on meeting the changing needs of the NHS.

“Collectively we have such phenomenal talent around our board table and are confident we can achieve our ambition for the NHS. It gives us the strong foundations to take forward our vision and strategy.”

MacQuillan adds: “I’m excited by NHS Supply Chain’s vision and strategy.

“I’m keen to use my global supply chain sector expertise to help the organisation to be the best it can be in its support of the NHS.

“This is my way of giving back as I retire from executive life and make the move from the US back to the UK.”

Sandra joins existing non-executive directors Rob Houghton and Heather Benjamin and recently-appointed Rommel Pereira and Mark Swyny.
