Integrated primary care facility set to open

A new 1,700sq m primary care facility is set to open in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

Assura has announced completion of the project, bringing a new integrated primary care facility to the area.

The centre offers high-quality GP space to be used for consultations and treatments, in addition to an on-site pharmacy.

The multipurpose nature of the site will enable greater means of communication and help cut costs for the NHS, while offering a diverse spectrum of facilities for patients.

The premises will be home to both Kidderminster Health Centre and The Forest Glades Medical Centre. Both are new additions to the Wyre Forest Health Partnership (WFHP) - a network comprising seven healthcare practices, 203 members of staff, and 73,000 patients across Kidderminster and nearby towns.

Paul Warwick, development manager at Assura, said: “The NHS is moving to a more person-centred approach in a bid to reduce the fragmented health and social care services that patients experience.

“With the introduction of intelligent, purpose-built centres, such as the new Kidderminster Health Centre, the area will benefit from the modern facilities to not only deal with the current pressures on the NHS, but also to be able to adapt to any future changes too.”

Kidderminster Health Centre was designed by Bundred and Goode and constructed by Speller Metcalfe.
