Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital award 10 year PACS contract to Fujifilm

Fujifilm has signed a 10-year PACS contract with Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, worth £3.3 million.

The company is pleased to announce it has just signed a 10-year PACS contract with Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, worth £3.3 million.

After an extensive tender process Fujifilm were chosen as the preferred partner. Commenting on the contract Anna Dugdale, Chief Executive of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital said: “We were looking for a strategic partner who offered the vision and capability to help improve our service and efficiency offering. The Fujifilm solution will go live in January 2012 and by 2013 we expect to achieve 30% overall efficiency gains within Radiology. As one specific example we expect to reduce our patient waiting time for routine diagnostic imaging. Fujifilm have provided us with a cost effective solution offering savings in key areas but more importantly their proposal provides the flexibility and response required to meet our specific clinical needs”

Commenting on the contract, Mark van Rossum, General Manager of Fujifilm said “We are delighted to be assisting Norfolk & Norwich with their PACs requirements for the next 10 years. We already have a dedicated project management team working closely with the Trust to ensure seamless migration of their existing 3.2 million patient studies into this comprehensive new solution. We expect to have this completed by December 2011.”

The Fujifilm contract covers three main centres comprising the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital main site, Cromer Hospital and The Radiology Academy.  It includes installing 77 workstations and incorporates all imaging modalities including CT, CR, Mammography, Orthopaedic, Nuclear Medicine and Dental.
