North Devon Hospital Case Study - Fordingbridge

Published: 27-Apr-2022

Working in collaboration with a main contractor, Fordingbridge designed a bespoke canopy to cover an internal courtyard as part of a larger project to turn the space into a staff breakout area for the NHS staff

Part of the project brief was that the canopy was to be connected to the structural elements of the existing building with no columns that would encroach on the internal space. In conjunction with our own in-house structural engineer we designed bespoke brackets to attach to the building on each side.

We were also asked to provide weather protection to the external seating area. Opting for two 5m tensile canopies, the installation took place with minimal groundworks allowing for prompt installation. Finished in Traffic Blue PPC, the canopies provide valuable cover during the rainy days and much needed shade during the summer months.

Our work in healthcare includes ambulance bays, main entrances, interlinking walkways and staff breakout areas. If you are looking to allow your space to be used throughout the year, and in all weather, contact our team today.
