EB-1990i offers improved image quality for better orientation and detection

Endoscopy manufacturer, PENTAX Life Care, has unveiled the world’s-first high definition video bronchoscope.

The newest addition to its range, the EB-1990i HD+ Bronchoscope is the first HD device with a megapixel CCD that presents clear, high-resolution images with accurate, natural colour reproduction. This provides users with superior image quality in combination with leading ergonomics for better orientation and detection, helping clinicians to clearly visualise the bronchial airways for increased confidence in their diagnosis.

It can provide clear enhancement of anatomical details of the bronchial mucosa, such as longitudinal elastic bands, mucosal glands and vascularity. In addition, the advanced ergonomics and flexibility of the lightweight scope ensure improved manoeuvrability, insertion control, and comfort. A fully-operational instrument channel also enables the use of small biopsy forceps for tissue diagnosis.

"Instilling greater clinical confidence by delivering high performance, reliability and value to our customers is at the core of everything we do," said David Moore, managing director of, PENTAX UK.

"Bronchoscopy has proved to be an important and indispensable diagnostic tool in pulmonology and we have taken giant strides to offer technological advances in the field."
