Papworth Hospital relocation bid moves forward
A PROJECT to relocate Cambridgeshire's Papworth Hospital has moved a step forward with the selection of bids for the next stage of designing, building, financing and maintaining the new facility. The bids from two consortia, Bouygues and Skanska, will be considered by the team behind plans for the new hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with a preferred bidder being selected in late 2012. The hospital is expected to be complete by late 2015. Stephen Bridge, Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's chief executive, said: "This is a key milestone in the project. We are looking forward to working with the two consortia to develop a new hospital which provides the highest quality environment in which to provide the best care for our patients."
