Car park management firm to roll out Automatic Number Plate Recognition solution at all trust hospitals

Park Solve is building on its relationship with Great Western NHS Foundation Trust by adding five community hospitals to its portfolio.

In November 2014 the UK-based car park management company started an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) pilot with the trust at Trowbridge Hospital. It created a bespoke solution to meet the needs of the hospital by providing a system that monitors all vehicles as they enter and exit the car park.

This service helped manage the use of its car park, preventing non-patients from taking advantage of the free parking facilities and allowing only patients, visitors and members of staff to park on the site.

As a result of the success at Trowbridge, the trust is now eager to provide the same level of service to all patients and colleagues at its other hospitals. Warminster, Savernake, Chippenham, and Melksham Community Hospital will now be offered professional, bespoke services catered to meet the needs of each individual hospital to deter parking abuse at the facilities.

“Parking with ease when you’re going for a treatment or a visit in a hospital is a must,” said Daniel Purdy, facilities support manager at the trust.

“Patients or their families and friends don’t want the additional pressure of being unable to find spaces to park their car and having to walk for miles to find a bay. By working with Park Solve to create a solution, we are confident all our patients’ experiences will be improved.
