\'Pop-up\' hospital provides surgical space during revamp

Vanguard Healthcare supplies temporary solution at St John\'s Hospital, Edinburgh


Vanguard Healthcare has begun work to provide interim surgical space for St John's Hospital in Edinburgh.

The facility will enable staff to continue providing ophthalmic procedures while the hospital's operating theatre undergoes refurbishment.

The hospital, based at Howden in Livingston, has recently been modernised with a £3.5m upgrade and the refurbishment of the operating theatre is part of this existing programme.

The mobile operating theatre is then expected to be in place for a further 12 months.

Vanguard will also provide a unit facilitator to oversee the daily running of the 'pop-up hospital', which will be installed next to the labour ward.
