Princess of Wales Hospital decorated by school children

SCHOOLCHILDREN from Bryntirion Comprehensive School recently gave their time and creative flair over to help decorate a children's ward at The Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, South Wales. The Year 12 and 13 pupils transformed the entrance corridor at the children's hospital with a colourful collection of artwork. Hospital play leader, Wendy Brooke, whose daughter attends the school, said: "The paintings are amazing, the children are very talented and have worked extremely hard. Yesterday, a young patient with her mum sat and watched the pupils painting for over an hour." Ward manager, Kaye Ahern added: "Seeing the transformation is wonderful. It has changed the feel of the ward. It's fantastic. They have created relevant and interesting paintings that everyone can enjoy." The art students are hoping the experience will help them later in the year when they will embark on a mural project for the school.
