Royal Gwent installs Philips SPECT CT imager

The Aneurin Bevan Health Board has invested in a Philips SPECT/CT with BrightView XCT system for the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, Wales. Alison Lee, superintendent clinical practitioner at the hospital, said: "We like the image quality we are obtaining for nuclear medicine and CT images, and also the fast CT acquisition time. The large bore and the table weight limit allow us to acquire images on heavier patients and we also like the fast and easy setup of acquisitions, which can be undertaken either with the remote station at the patient's side or from the control room. The system is very flexible, easy to use and, most importantly, patient friendly."
