Securikey unveils safety mirror range

New solutions ideal for \'blind\' corners, A&E departments and hospital carparks

Securikey has launched a new range of enhanced safety mirrors particularly suited for use in hospitals.

The use of strategically-placed mirrors has become an important and cost-effective aspect of safety and security in hospital buildings, particularly in corridors and at intersections where there is a high risk of injury due to the large volume of people and the daily transportation of beds and wheelchairs.

The newly-launched DeLuxe Half Dome Mirror is designed for these ‘blind’ areas, ensuring optimal views around corners to greatly reduce the risk of collisions.

Featuring a 3mm acrylic mirror face with a pure reflective coating, the range allows a clear viewing area of 180°. It is available in three sizes, 450mm, 600mm and 900mm, offering viewing distances of up to 4m, 6m and 9m respectively. It also incorporates a lightweight vinyl celuka back and lid which act as a barrier, ensuring that dust, litter or other objects do not enter the mirror cavity, removing the need to clean inside.

Specific types and shapes of mirrors are suitable for different areas including the Quarter Face Convex model, which is shaped to fit cleanly and discretely into the ceiling corner of corridors, offering 90° of visibility.

Security mirrors can also be used as a powerful deterrent for antisocial behaviour in areas such as A&E, while allowing staff to better monitor their surroundings.
