Sister companies Vistamatic and BetweenGlassBlinds have joined forces to challenge themselves and raise money for a local charity, Haven House Children’s Hospice.
Over the course of February 2022, each team member will strive to walk over 10,000 steps daily, helping the group to a total of six million strides.
Director, Mark Nash, said: “We wanted to do something which everyone could participate in and enjoy.
With a Step Challenge, everyone can be involved. Whether it’s running a 10k, going for a walk with the dog, or taking the kids to the park for a kickabout, every step will count.
“We hope this will encourage people to get out in nature more, and help to improve their physical and mental health.”
The companies have provided pedometers to the team, with some counting their steps with smart watches or apps on their phone.
And team members have been encouraged to ask friends and family for support via a Just Giving page with both Vistamatic and BetweenGlassBlinds pledging to match the total donation, meaning for every £10 donated, Haven House will receive £30.
Nash said: “The team all submitted suggestions for charity recipients and the overwhelming choice was Haven House. We are proud to be raising money for such an amazing local charity.”
