FOLLOWING a month-long photographic competition held in autumn 2010, Fareham Community Hospital and the Cornerstone Arts Foundation have announced the installation of the winning images. The seven shortlisted photos were chosen from more than 200 submissions by an arts advisory committee set up to oversee the arts commissioning process at the hospital. The overall winner was then selected by staff at the hospital during a two-week voting period in November. Six of the seven shortlisted photographers are Year 10 students at Brookfield School and the remaining is a local photographer from Fareham Town Photographic Studio. The photos are now installed in the hospital's main reception area and show scenes from within 1.5 miles of the hospital. "The photography event was a fun and exciting way for members of the public to get involved with the new hospital," said Inger Hebden, director of capital planning for NHS Hampshire and a member of The Cornerstone Arts Foundation Board. "We are proud to display the works of several talented, local people at Fareham Community Hospital."
