Work begins on Leamington Spa health centre

Low-carbon development will bring services together under one roof

Work has begun on the construction of a new low-carbon health centre in Leamington Spa.

Midlands-based Deeley Construction has broken ground on the  construction partner has started work on the creation of a new healthcare facility Lillington.

Once complete, the building will integrate primary care services alongside a range of community health teams and support increased access to vital services for the local population.

The two-storey, modern, low-carbon facility is expected to be completed in November 2023.

Deeley Construction is undertaking the project on behalf of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and its wholly-owned subsidiary company, SWFT Clinical Services; Warwick District Council, and Coventry and Warwickshire’s Integrated Care System.

Adam Parchment, physiotherapy outpatient pathway lead at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am delighted to be a part of this exciting project and to enhance the healthcare offering for communities in Lillington.

“Working with partners is enabling us to create a facility that will bring together different services and develop new pathways for patients which are personalised to their needs.

“This will help us improve outcomes for patients, as well as help to signpost to other services.”

Councillor Judith Falp, Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for community health and wellbeing, added: “We are very pleased to see that work on this project is underway, which once complete will see the health, wellbeing, and community services for Lillington and Cubbington under one roof, which is so vital to serving the growing needs of this area."
