Work starts on Romford's Queen's Hospital garden

Published: 26-Jul-2011

WORK has begun on the new Lavender Garden at Queen's Hospital. Chairman of Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, Edwin Doyle, donned a hardhat to cut the first sod, marking the creation of the lawn, which will provide a quiet and tranquil location for patients, visitors and staff. The garden has been professionally designed, with paved pathways and circles snaking between flowerbeds filled with plants of different colours, scents and textures. In a bid to fund the project, people are being encouraged to sponsor a paving stone, which can then be engraved with a message of their choice.
