The new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping is set to open its doors in January 2026.
Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is appealing to local artists to help shape the environment by donating artwork for the facility.
In keeping with its setting on the edge of Epping Forest, the CDC will feature artwork inspired by a woodland theme, celebrating the calm and natural beauty of the surrounding landscape through images of trees, wildlife, and tranquil scenes.
The donated artwork will contribute to this by enhancing the experience of those using the facility
The initiative aims to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors, supporting wellbeing through thoughtfully curated spaces.
The project forms part of the CDC’s broader ambition to provide compassionate, timely, and accessible diagnostic services while addressing health inequalities and improving outcomes for the local population.

Tom Burton, Chief Finance and Infrastructure Officer, said: “This is a unique chance for local artists to showcase their talent, gain exposure, and donate artwork to a space that supports health, healing, and community connections. All types of media will be considered, including paintings, illustrations, photography, and mixed media.
“We look forward to working with local artists interested in supporting our new CDC at St Margaret’s Hospital; this amazing facility will support our local people, and we would love it to be made even more special with art from our local community.”
