Published: 9-Jul-2025

David Bailey Furniture, together with Millane Contract Services, delivered a fast-turnaround refurbishment project at Queen’s Hospital in Romford, focusing on the enhancement of key clinical workspaces

The brief was clear - to deliver a durable, healthcare-compliant fitted furniture system that would support daily operations and streamline workspace organisation within a tight 48-hour window.

The project was part of a targeted update to several high-use hospital areas. The primary objective was to supply and install modern, resilient fitted furniture products for two nurse stations, a clean utility room and a documentation room.

Given the healthcare environment, it was also essential that all installed FF&E aligned with strict hygiene standards, offered robust performance, and improved day-to-day functionality for staff.

They included HTM-compliant standard storage units, specialised bullnosed worktops, designed for ease of
cleaning and infection control, together with custom-made fittings designed to meet each room’s specific layout and workflow.

The fitted furniture was manufactured to withstand high-frequency use while also providing a modern, organised appearance to improve staff efficiency and morale.
