MTX Contracts, a Cheshire-based construction and engineering company, has begun construction on the Pitsea Community Diagnostic Centre.
Using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), the two-storey facility is due to open in spring 2027 and will provide more than 130,000 additional health checks annually.
The Pitsea CDC will feature an eight-room endoscopy suite, X-ray, CT and MRI scanning facilities, and other diagnostic services. In addition, the centre will act as a community hub, incorporating a purpose-built activity centre and library.
Structural steel modules are being manufactured off-site, while groundworks proceed on-site. Electrical and mechanical modules will be factory-tested before assembly, accelerating construction, improving quality, and reducing costs.
