Abloy UK appoints Digital Access Solutions Academy manager

Johnathon Dale to head up company’s training arm

Johnathon Dale has been appointed as the new manager of Abloy UK’s Digital Access Solutions Academy, a purpose-built facility to educate, install, and test the company’s range of products, with a particular focus on new digital solutions and ecosystems portfolio.

The academy provides free training courses for a range of Abloy solutions including CLIQ, Incedo Business, Aperio and SMARTair.

Dale brings a wealth of experience to the role, after spending 13 years in the Royal Air Force in various roles, including engineer and training manager.

He is looking to adapt the academy to provide internal training to broaden the expertise of Abloy staff, as well as continuing to build upon and grow the education provision to external parties.

He said: “I am delighted to join the team at Abloy UK and am keen to develop the offering and educate people on the full scope of products and solutions available.

“I think it is vital to improve the skill set of not only external course attendees, but also look to further develop the knowledge of existing staff across the business.

“This will help them understand different aspects of the business better and give them new skills to benefit their job and advise customers more effectively.

Pip Courcoux, head of product, technical and digital transformation at Abloy UK, adds: “Our academy is well known in the industry, providing comprehensive training on digital solutions to complement the Foundations and Foundations Plus courses offered by the traditional Abloy Academy.

“We are excited to bring somebody with Johnathon’s calibre into the business and welcome him to the team.

“It is rare to find somebody with a wealth of experience as both an engineer and a trainer, and we know he is going to be a great asset to the company.”
